Yes.  Students must be at least 15 years of age.  Those that are between the ages of 15 and 18 must be accompanied by their guardian.  We will also be offering youth classes in the near future.  Please contact us if interested.

We have found that the best and fastest results happen when students of all levels of ability work together.  Our training methodology is sustainable, meaning our progressive work starts from a slow speed and only increases in speed and intensity when the student is ready.

No.  Though most good survival training would be helpful, in some cases it is often easier to embrace and apply the core principles of Systema when there is no prior training that could hinder the pursuit of “Freedom of Movement.”

Although it is helpful to be athletically fit for some of the work, we have found that the most important elements to our training are mindset, awareness, and the ability to adapt.  What is surprising to most is the workout that you get without knowing it, especially when our comprehensive breathwork is paired with load-bearing curvilinear body mechanics in a seamless flow.  Ultimately, your experience with us will lead you to realize a new meaning of the word “fit” in that our work is based more on developing useable and flexible real-world survival skills instead of solely focusing on traditional cardio or strength training.

Though you certainly get a mind-body workout during the 90-minute Systema sessions, we created specialized Conditioning classes for those interested in focused solo and partner exercises, which are directly related to the functional work done in Systema.  The overwhelming feedback is that this class really prepares and relaxes the body for the Systema class that happens immediately afterward.  This is also true for the Breathwerx class.  The Conditioning and Breathwerx classes are punchcard based.

The Breathwerx class is a 60-minute stand-alone class that helps students deepen their understanding of the comprehensive Systema breathing method.  You will undergo drills to expand your breath reserve, drive your movement properly with breath, and use various methods to mitigate pain and vastly improve your recovery from physical/psychological stress.  Though breath training is emphasized in the Systema sessions, Breathwerx is an opportunity to explore the deeper aspects of this inner work and have all breath-related questions answered.  This class (as well as the Conditioning class) is based on a punchcard system.
