Baron believes that the key to health and fitness is an integrated process of relaxation, breathing, mobility, and body-awareness. His programs promote dynamic movements for sustainable strength and flexibility for a balanced lifestyle. His goal is to provide engaging and inspiring methods to help others become the best they can be.
Baron’s extensive fitness background started as a child in martial arts, track, field, and football. In his teen years, he picked up power-lifting, kickboxing, swimming, break-dancing, ballet/jazz, competitive cheerleading, and gymnastics. Before obtaining his B.S. in Philosophy from Seattle Pacific University, he began training to become a member of the U.S. Navy’s SEAL teams. This led to an extensive amount of swimming, running, cross-fit, firearms training, a lot more dancing, and a new found passion for the martial arts. The journey to become a SEAL ended a week before a final contract, due to an unfortunate construction injury. Baron continues to thrive on, with a career in carpentry, real-estate, and as a dual coach at Balanced Path Studio.
In addition to fitness coaching at the Studio, Baron is an assistant instructor for the Russian Martial Art called Systema. He first discovered Systema in 2010 and has been seriously training with Kwan Lee and other instructors since 2011. As a long time student in Chinese Gung-fu, Tae Kwon Do, Muay-thai/boxing, and MMA, he was instantly drawn to the multifaceted nature of Systema. Baron is certified to teach by Systema Headquarters, Toronto, as an Instructor in Training.
Baron’s unique teaching style and body mechanics in Systema have been greatly influenced by his extensive experience in strength training and dancing.
In his free time, Baron enjoys salsa/bachata dancing, reading, working out, and working with his hands.
Baron is CPR/AED certified and has completed Level 1 Trauma training with former Special Forces Medic Jeff Hensley.
